Why hello, and thanks for clicking the website of your son, brother, buddy, or uncle, Doug Cotton — I am that guy!The Honk Festival is this weekend, with free music amid the weirdness of Georgetown, the charm of Colombia City, and Pratt Park in the Central District.
Alice in Arabialand is playing at the Annex Theater, where live theater cost as little as five bucks (sliding scale).
The Friday protests at the Federal Building are always fun, and sadly always necessary.
The Importance of Being Earnest is playing at the UW, tickets $10, through next Sunday, June 8.
Jane Fonda's masterpiece Barbarella (1968) is screening at the Here-After on Monday. Tickets are free, but food & drink isn't.
There's a concert by Emerald City Horn Choir and Flutrange at the Museum of Flight next Thursday, with both the concert and museum admission free.
That's what I'm hoping to do over the next seven days, and if you're family, friend, former friend, acquaintance, arch-enemy, or simply Doug-curious, you're invited to do it with me. Click the links for details, and/or drop me a note!
And yes, my birthday is coming up. How nice of you to remember, but it would be nicer if you'd forget.
As I say every year, my sincere and no-kidding request is to NOT have "Happy Birthday" sung at me, nor any "happy birthday" texts, cards, gifts, or even mentions. Big thanks to all who say and do nothing!
