Log Lady, and a celebration of science

   — Thursday, May 15, 2025 —

Oy, you were smart to skip last week's ox burger. If you try something new, there's always a chance for disappointment, and it was disappointing. Plop plop, fizz fizz. I'll stick with beef burgers.

Here's what I'm hoping to try this week, and possibly be disappointed again. If you're family, friend, former friend, acquaintance, arch-enemy, or simply Doug-curious, you're invited. Click the links for details, or drop me a note!

Whether I do or don't do these things depends on my mood when I wake up that day. I'll definitely be there if someone's coming with me, though — maybe you?

 • Please RSVP by the day before.
 • All events are 'Dutch treat'.
 • Please remember the basics of Doug.

Friday 5/16Breakfast with the family. Have you tried the chicken fried steak? And in the afternoon at the Beacon, a documentary about Twin Peaks' Log Lady.

Saturday 5/17 — I'll be kicking around Rainier Valley, and lunching at either Emerald City Fish'n'Chips (very good), Geraldine's Counter (also very good), or Q Bakery (which would be new to me).

Sunday 5/18 — Trump is, of course, the dumbest, meanest, most un-Christian and un-American President we've ever had, so I'll be at the protest, carrying an American flag.

Tuesday 5/20 — It's a free concert by the West Seattle Community Orchestra. They've specifically asked me not to dance this time.

Thursday 5/22 — A celebration of science while Trump's ending it.

And if you're planning something or going somewhere, and you'd like a fat man with flatulence to tag along, all invitations will be cheerfully considered, possibly even accepted.

Make the most of every day. We don't have as many as we'd like...
