Great Scott! I'm an old man!

But enough about you, let's talk about me! Here's what I'm hoping to be up to this week...

No, I'm not doing all these things. But on any given morning, if my mood is right and the stars align and especially if you're coming with me, I might do something off the list.

On the 4th of July, I'll be at Seattle Center for the annual swearing in of new citizens from all over the world. We're hoping the ICE Gestapo doesn't swoop in and arrest them all five minutes before the ceremony.

On Saturday July 5th, it's time for free, all-you-can-play pinball. Can't speak for anyone else, but my flipper skills could use a workout.

If you're up for a hike — which for me is a fairly major if — this walking tour of the waterfront on Tuesday the 8th sounds fun. And since we're there and we've burned all those calories, why not have greasy yummy fish'n'chips for dinner?

On Thursday the 10th, there's prohibition-era piano jazz in a prohibition-era bar, the Jules Maes Saloon in Georgetown. But also there's poetry in the park at Meadowbrook Pond. Haven't decided yet, between the piano and the poetry. Might do both! Might do neither! Life is full of surprises!

If you're family, friend, former friend, acquaintance, or simply Doug-curious, you're invited to share the surprise. Click the links for details, and/or drop me a note!

 • Please RSVP by the day before.
 • All events are 'Dutch treat'.
 • Please remember the basics of Doug

And if you're planning something or going somewhere, and you'd like a fat man with flatulence to tag along, all invitations will be cheerfully considered, possibly even accepted.
