A week or so ago, riding the bus and singing "The Old Rugged Cross," it occurred to me that I don't have any trophies at last to lay down. I have therefore given myself the trophy I deserve...➔

Thanksgiving is next Thursday the 27th, and this year's annual pilgrimage will be to King Buffet in Renton. I've eaten there numerous times without vomiting even once, so you know it's good. They're charging $29.99 per person on Thanksgiving. Our family's meeting & eating time has not yet been announced; check this page or text me later. See you Thursday!

Speaking of fine dining, please note that breakfast (or sometimes lunch) happens every Friday. On the first and third Friday monthly it's at Little Pat's Place, but most other Fridays there's a road trip to some other restaurant.
This morning, Friday the 21st, we're at Little Pat's Place, where I recommend the chicken fried steak.
Next Friday the 28th, it's lunch at Cafe Salem in the Central District — an Ethiopian restaurant in what used to be a house. If you've never eaten Ethiopian, I recommend the lamb tibs, but everything's yummy, and Cafe Salem is charming and reasonably priced.

There's an astounding documentary called The Fire Within, about two lovable kooks who dedicated their lives to watching & filming volcanoes, and evaporated into a wisp of smoke when they got too close to one. You can watch for free at the link above.

But wait, there's more! On Saturday 11/22 I might drop in at The Roadhouse. And there's always something interesting at C & P Coffee in West Seattle. And most evenings there's a reasonably-priced show at Seattle Jazz Fellowship. And at least once weekly I'm at a protest, usually in West Seattle because it's a shorter bus ride.
As always, anyone who's interested is invited to come with me to any of the above. And if you're planning something or going somewhere, and you'd like a fat man with flatulence to tag along, all invitations will be cheerfully considered, possibly even accepted.
