Douggles dances

   — Thursday, February 13, 2025 —

You're invited to hang with the Douggles.
I'll be on my best behavior, promise.

‼ FLASH ‼ Lunching at Piroshki on Madison on Thursday 2/13

‼ FLASH ‼ At the Seattle Courthouse (700 Stewart St)
for State of Washington v Trump on Friday 2/14

‼ FLASH ‼ Sandwich at Couth Buzzard on Friday evening 2/14, then a free concert by the Whateverly Brothers

‼ FLASH ‼ Georgian breakfast at Skalka downtown on Saturday 2/15, then a protest at the Tesla shop on Westlake

‼ FLASH ‼ Yes, I'm going to the protest at the Federal Building Monday 2/17. Why do you ask?

‼ FLASH ‼ Got a hankering for hotcakes, so I'm headed to Little Pat's Place on Tuesday 2/18.

‼ FLASH ‼ Wednesday 2/19 I'll be protesting at Cal Anderson Park, then seeing Uncle Boonmee at the Film Forum.

‼ FLASH ‼ Never had Somali food before, hope it's good. Breakfast at Zain in Tukwila Thursday 2/20.

Here's what you missed out on last week —

• had a big tasty lunch for a reasonable price at  Birrieria y Rosticeria El Paisano

• after several failed attempts, I finally had pho at Pho Tai in White Center. Really quite good, but wow do not order the tendons!

• carried a picket downtown, and marched on Capitol Hill, protesting the end of America, which is what's happening while most folks watch Netflix.

See, what Elon Musk is doing is not 'audits' — audits are done by auditors. Musk is sledgehammering all aspects of US government that he or Trump don't like, but if you remember civics class, spending, hiring, and the existence of federal agencies is the purview of Congress. The President has no constitutional power to order offices closed, civil service employees fired, and entire agencies shuttered without public debate and a vote in Congress. This is wrong, unconstitutional, and plain foolhardy — sure to lead to unintended and scary consequences, when we suddenly need some of the government functions and expertise Trump and Musk have gleefully tossed into the woodchopper.

• also, still watching Twin Peaks. I like the Log Lady, but that guy Bob sure is weird.

Here's a list of things I *might* be up to in the next week. Whether I do these things or don't depends on my mood and my gout and whether anyone wants to come with.
